Description

A charter granted on 27 January 1235 by King Henry IIII to the Abbot of St Albans (B1).
The Sheriff of Buckinghamshire was ordered to proclaim the market and fair and cause them to be held on 28 January 1235 (B2).
The Abbot of St Albans was holding Thursday market in 1279 (B3).
On 23 Feb 1330, the Abbot of St Albans leased Winslow manor with the maret and other rights to Simon Fraunceys, mercer and citizen of London, for £200 per annum (B4).
In 1858, the market day was changed to Wednesday (B5).
