Description
1825 MAP SHOWS BREWERY APPROX AT NGR (B1).
A LONG ESTABLISHED BREWERY BELONGING TO MESSRS LUCAS & LOVETT (B2).
'BREWERY' AT NGR (B3).
BREWERY BUILDINGS NOW A HOUSE. KELLY'S DIRECTORY SHOW BREWERY WAS STILL OPERATING IN 1939, BY J W GURNEY (B4).
Not clear when brewery established but Joseph Lucas aquired a malting in 1732 and was aquiring local pubs from 1798. Business sold to William Kempton Gurney in 1875. Brewing ceased in 1939 and the building converted to a house around 1971.
