Description

Between 1907 and 1933, Mr Walter Evans frequently found tiles whilst digging his kitchen garden (now the forecourt of Winter's Garage). He also found what he thought was an underground passage (possibly the firebox of a kiln?). The garden was sold in 1933 and other tiles were found whilst digging pits for petrol tanks (B1).
