Description

The 1928 OS map shows that the conifers (which had been planted after the large 1851 felling as quick-growing nurse crop for the young beech) have almost all disappeared except alongside some of the fences and tracks. The map also shows a square enclosure marked 'nursery' to the S of Benmond End Pond (2).
