Description

The English Heritage survey of Stowe undertaken in 2001 notes two large quarries - one centred at SP66943631 (50m long x 30m wide x 2m deep). Another at SP67003634 (44m long x 40m wide and 2.5m deep) (CAS 0420808002). Both appear to cut the ridge and furrow and hence are likely to be post-medieval in date (1).
