Description

The English Heritage survey of Stowe undertaken in 2001 notes the large quarry now occupied by modern buildings. The pit is some 60m long and 50m wide and waste material lies on the northern and western edges. The quarry is shown on the 1843 estate map and was apparenly still in use in the 1880 and 1900. (1)
