Description

The English Heritage survey of Stowe undertaken in 2001 notes two v-shaped banks and three short linear banks close to the North Front of Stowe House. The banks are 1.6m wide and 0.3m high. This trench and several others are visible on 1946 and 1969 aerials photographs (B1).
Note: Perhaps more likely to be emergency air raid shelters for school staff and pupils rather than practice trenches.
