Description
English Heritage's survey of Stowe undertaken in 2001 notes a large circular quarry at this location cut into the hillside and approx 20m diameter. The earthwork appears to have been ploughed over. It is not shown on the 1843 estate map nor the OS maps of 1880 and 1900, but probably dates from the post-medieval period (20).
