Description
English Heritage's survey of Stowe undertaken in 2001 notes that the 19th century carriageway, Northampton Drive, passes over the scarp (40m long x 0.5m-0.8m high) which forms the earthwork dam retaining the Roothouse River Pond. Northampton Dirve brought visitors to Stowe through the Ridings and Woody Park (B2).
