Description

Brooch, made from lead alloy/pewter, about 1mm thick, with central sunflower disc and cross in circles on the perimeter. Rose for hinged pin on reverse and trace of catch plate. Coins were also found in association with a Romano-British pottery scatter. 'Lots of late pottery, reddish' noted, but no samian. The coins consisted of 15 fourth century examples - all corroded. A small mound of stone was visible in the field (B1).
