Description

Gardens of Regency villa, consisting of a large lawn surrounded by specimen trees and topiary trees and hedges, with a small fruit and vegetable garden on the west side separated from the main gardens by a substantial topiary hedge cut into the shape of a crenellated wall and gateway. A small formal garden on the west side of the house leading to a terrace has been modified by the addition of a modern swimming pool and modern walls replacing some of the original witchert walls. A tennis court extends beyond the formal grounds and appears to have been incorporated into the garden since 1880 (B2).
