Description

106 sherds were recovered from walking the north and western section of the field - an area which had previously produced Roman finds for detectorists. The concentration of Romano-British wares in the western section possibly suggests an isolated farmstead with the halo of finds around the major spread suggesting infields. A Roman copper-alloy brooch was also recovered. The medieval pottery finds are indicative of manuring on open fields. (1)
