Description

The eastern edge of this field is said to follow the line of a minor Roman road. Scatters of Romano-British pottery suggest that the field may have been cleared and ploughed at this time. A few sherds of medieval pottery substantiate aerial photographic evidence from the 1940s which shows extensive ridge and furrow. (1)
