Description

Trial trenching carried out by Northamptonshire Archaeology in June 2001 identified a shallow ditch aligned NW-SE with sloping sides and rounded base, 1.2m - 1.3m wide and 0.2m - 0.25m deep in trenches 4 and 6. The area had probably been cleared of topsoil and roughly levelled during previous quarrying activity prior to the quarry closing in about 1991 (B1).
