Description

A geophysical survey carried out as a student project in 2000 is believed to show evidence of a palisade rebuilt over time in three alignments on the western edge of the fort and a single alignment on the northern rampart (B16).
English Heritage's Earthwork Survey Report of November 2000, suggests that the question of revetments on the main rampart remains unresolved but it seems likely that there was a palisade from the evidence revealed by Gover (B17).
Note: GIS plot of palisades estimated from illustrations in above source (B16).
