Description

Elin's rest is a small brick Gazebo set in the corner of the east garden walls. Elin was the sister of Sir Harry Verney (formerly Calvert) . He inherited Claydon in 1827 and died in 1894. There is a stone set over the west opening with the name Elin's rest and the date 1881 inscribed. It has a pyramidal roof, with decorative shaped tiles. Roof has terra cotta ball finial at the apex. Arched openings to the south and west. Interior has a benched seat and the floor is quarry tiled.
Lych Gate: 5M north of Elin's Rest, in the east wall. Arched, double opening in the wall filled to half height with oak gates. Simple tiled, ridged canopy over the wall and gate (B10).
