- AGRICULTURAL BUILDING? (19th Century to Modern - 1800 AD? to 1999 AD?)
Description
A spread of Limestone rubble and brick was found during trial trenching, 6.3m across and 0.2m thick. This was originally thought to be the Roman road (Margary Route 160a, CAS 2980) which the A421 follows. The fragments of brick were modern in date. Aerial photographs show what looks like a small building in this location. The rubble therefore may have been the foundation or area of hard standing next to the building. The building may have been agricultural or associated with the airfield (B1).
