Description

Evaluation trial trenching carried out in April to May 1997 by Buckinghamshire County Museum Archaeological Service identied a number of ditches and pits, probably field boundaries dating mainly from the 1st millenium bc, although only minimal dating evidence was retrieved. There was some evidence for several phases of field boundaries. A possible palaeochannel appears to have become silted up by the late Iron Age. Prehistoric features occurred across the whole of the evaluation area with the exception of the area bordering Thame Road South, although there was a significant concentration at the NGR (B1).
