Description

10-20cm thick layer containing large quantity of animal bones in highway verge at a depth of c.0.4-0.5m revealed by 1.5m wide road maintenace trench running for 15m along highway (S limit not defined) extends into verge but not under road. Small sample of bone collected for analysis, no cut features observed and no further recording necessary. Found to be horse bones. Bone large and in good condition probably post-med (B1).
