Description

Well in woodland. 25ft deep to a blockage (consisting of old tree branches, brick rubble and discarded office paper work!). Diameter 3ft 4ins. Lining at the top of the shaft consists of chalk blocks put together like a dry stone wall and extends down for 4 ft. The well is in chalk except for the 2ft of topsoil (B1).
Well is not marked on 1st edition or more recent 1:2500 maps.
