Description

Excavations carried out by Tempus Reparatum between August and October 1996 in advance of sand and gravel extraction. Principal site consisted of a large expanse of black earth and burnt stone on both sides of a small stream. Possible lake/river-side activity area with phased evidence of burnt mound, ditch and post hole construction. Concentrations of worked flint and ceramics recovered. Radiocarbon dating and full pollen analysis (B2).
