Description

Silver half penny fragment of Harthacnut, found during metal detecting (B2).
Finder also reports disc brooches and a cloisonne brooch (not seen) from around SU795991. This area has also produced over 50 hammered coins ranging from short-cross types to James I (B2). Saxon hook and tag end may also be from this field or possibly from CAS 02347 (photograph filed). Harthacnut coin donated to BCM.
