Description

Dimensions - Radius 18m.
Plan Form - Circular.
1 of 2 barrows, opened 1858 (B1-3).
Ploughed down, but apparently inviolate. Clearly visible in rape crop as rise of 0.5m (1950). Sscheduled (B4).
Slight traces of ditch visible as ring of darker soil on N arc (B5).
Barrow denuded by heavy ploughing. Ditch indistinguishable (B6).
Plotted from APs (B7-8).
Included in English Heritage's Heritage at Risk Register 2009, 2011, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. Condition described as 'Extensive significant problems ie under plough, collapse' with the principal vulnerability from arable ploughing and trend as declining. Assessed as priority category A: no action/strategy identified or agreed (B9-20).
