Description

19th century gardens mentioned by Sheahan. The first and second edition 6" OS maps show nothing of specific interest. Recent AP's show the gardens, however there is little detail visible (B3)
An archaeological evaluation undertaken in advance of development identified a ditch which was thought to be associated with the 19th century garden landscaping. Additional excavation work explored the paleochannel and gravel river terrace located to the west of the site, and found 8 struck flints and 1 sherd of Bronze Age pottery (B4-5).
