Description

House surrounded by lawns with a few mature trees shown on first edition 6" map. There is a semi-circular parterre-like feature to the west of the house which doesn't appear on the first edtion 6" map. (B2-3).
Rev Henry Harpur Crewe had several newly introduced tulip species including Tulipa acuminata and Tulipa greigii growing in his garden at Drayton Beauchamp Rectory, where he was Rector from 1860-1883. He mentioned both in an article in 'The Garden' on 20th May 1876 (B4).
