Description
House built in 1897, designed by Sir Reginald Blomfield (author of 'The Formal Garden in England', 1892). The garden displays are mostly his ideas and they were laid out and designed by him. There are formal gardens between the house and the river, landscape park with good trees to the north and various garden buildings (B2).
Following discovery of a brick-built structure during gardening work, investigations carried out between October 2003 and September 2004 by Archaeology in Marlow revealed a probable early 20th century water storage tank. See report for details (B3).
Conservation Area designated in 1992 (B4).
