Description
WORLD WAR 2 SEARCH LIGHT CAMP MAPPED IN EASTERN PART OF FIELD. SITE IDENTIFIED FROM CARTOGRAPHIC SOURCES; HAS NOT BEEN CHECKED IN THE FIELD, AND EXTENT OF ANY REMAINS THUS UNKNOWN. SITE FROM AYLESBURY NORTHERN LINK ROAD STUDIES.(B1)
This site was assessed as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). However, no evidence of the searchlight battery recorded at this location was visible from the available aerial photographs, the earliest of which dates to August 1945 (3).
