Description

SHERDS OF LATE C13-C14 JUG IN SOFT ORANGE FABRIC WITH SOME GROG INCLUSIONS. HANDLE DECORATED WITH OBLIQUE KNIFE CUTS, BODY HAS 3 LINES ROUND IT & A SPECKLED GREEN GLAZE. ALSO A MEDIEVAL MORTAR FRAGMENT IN LIMESTONE (PURBECK MARBLE). FOUND BY W GEORGE DURING BUILDING OPERATIONS (B1).
