Plan Form - SUBRECTANGULAR
2 PROBABLE ABBUTING ENCLOSURES AND OTHER POSSIBLE ENCLOSURE IN SAME FIELD. ALSO POSSIBLE LINEAR ?TRACKWAY FEATURE (B1).
Negative watching brief carried out by AS&C in January/February 2008 during groundworks for manege (groundworks confined to topsoil) (B2).
A sub circular enclosure of late prehistoric date is visible on historic aerial photographs as cropmarks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located 300m west of Warren Farm, Little Horwood, and centred at SP 78996 32049. The enclosure is approximate 40x39m and has a flattened side on the south east. There is no sign of the trackway feature on any of the photographs or lidar visualisations available to the project. There is a natural feature to the north, a linear deposit of alluvium, visible on geology mapping and also as lodged crops on aerial photographs. Other geological features were visible on aerial photographs. (8)
