RECTANGULAR ENCLOSURE SHOWING AS A CROPMARK. SITUATED TO THE EAST OF STOKE HOUSE FARM ADJACENT TO THE RIVER OUZEL. (B1).

An Iron Age or Roman rectangular ditched enclosure is visible on historic aerial photographs as cropmarks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located in a field adjacent the River Ouzel about 260 metres ESE of Stoke House Farm and centred at SP 88515 31185, a three-sided ditch up to 3.5 metres wide encloses an internal area about 46.5 metres W-E and 39 metres N-S. The W facing side is about 43 metres long aligned N-S: the N facing side is about 50 metres W-E: the S facing side is 45 metres W-E. The E facing side and SE corner is not visible on the available aerial photographs, though the NE corner turns S for about 14 metres (2)
