Description

Plan Form - Subrectangular.
Subrectangular enclosure situated north of Rouse House (B1).

Cropmarks of a large rectilinear probably later prehistoric or Roman enclosure with an inner ring ditch, possibly a hut circle and a smaller adjacent enclosure visible on aerial photographs at SP 6586 3584. The enclosure has a slightily convex northern side and rounded corners, and measures in the region of 70m square. There is a possible entrance in the western side. The inner ring ditch lies within the northern half of the main enclosure. This has a diameter of between 10-20m. Immediately to the SW of the western corner is a small sub-rectangular enclosure (at SP 6580 3582). This measures in the region of 10-15m across. The faint traces of levelled medieval ridge and furrow can be seen extending through both enclosures (2).
