IN EDWARD THE CONFESSOR'S TIME, EDMER ATULE HELD MANOR. WILLIAM I GRANTED IT TO HIS HALF BROTHER, ROBERT COUNT OF MORTAIN, WHO HELD IT IN 1086. RECTORY MANOR, FIRST MENTIONED AFTER RESTORATION, OWNED BY FITZ HERBERTS, THEN JOHN BLANKS, IN C17. IN 1801 MANOR SOLD TO CARRINGTONS, WHO STILL HOLD (B1).
