Description

ROMAN POTTERY & COINS FOUND BY TOM CLARK WHILST METAL DETECTING IN HIS 'AREA K'. FINDS CONCENTRATED IN AN AREA APPROX 150M X 200M, CENTRED AT NGR. HE ALSO REPORTS A SCATTER OF LIMESTONE AT SP7885 1520 (B4). NO ADDITIONAL FINDS REPORTED IN JUNE 1996 (B5). 'HUGE PIECES OF HEAVY POT', A ROMAN PIN AND 'LOADS OF COINS' FROM HIGHEST PART OF FIELD REPORTED BY TOM CLARK. HE REPORTS A 'MASSIVE AMOUNT OF BITS AND PIECES' ON BOTH SIDES OF THE RAILWAY LINE (B6).
