Description
HUMAN BONES & A BEAKER (01:000) FOUND BY SOME BOYS (WHO REPORTED FIND TO C O SKILBECK), IN LYDE BROOK, C.50M BELOW LYDE COTTAGE & ON W BANK. BONES INCLUDED HUMERUS, FEMUR, ULNA & METATARSAL BONES OF A WOMAN OVER 25. PRESUMABLY REST OF BONES WERE WASHED AWAY BY BROOK (B1-3).

A Roman female burial urn found in 1928 in the bank of The Lyde, some 20 yds south of the railway at Bledlow (SP 7782 0243), and 10ft above stream level. The finds are now in Bucks County Museum. Information from C Skilbeck in 1949 (B2).
Long necked beaker in Bucks Museum Acc No 82-83.33 (B5).
Mr C Skilbeck is deceased. The exact siting cannot be confirmed (B6).
