Plan Form - SUBRECTANGULAR
AN AREA OF EARTHWORKS IMMEDIATELY NORTH OF DADFORD VILLAGE SEEN ON AP'S. COMPRISE 5 REGULAR ENCLOSURES/CLOSES ADJOINING EXISTING COTTAGES. SEVERAL APPEAR TO SHOW SUBDIVISIONS AND AT LEAST ONE HAS SLIGHT TRACES OF RIDGE & FURROW. POSSIBLY POST-MEDIEVAL LAND ALLOTMENT? (B7).

A system of probable post-medieval boundary ditches and banks are visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located in a field immediately NE of High Street in Dadford village and centred at SP 66871 38373, six parallel ditches and five banks aligned SW-NE subdivide blocks of medieval ridge and furrow cultivation into strips of varying sizes (9-12).
