Description

After Conquest granted to Bishop of Bayeux. Bishop Odo lost lands under William Rufus: went to Munchesney family. Mid C13 claims by Valence; eventually came to family 1314. Other families which held manor included Whitingham & Verneys. Sold in early C17 to regicide Simon Mayne (B2).
