Description
Grade II. Formerly shown as Cottage on South side of Toweridge Common 200 yards north west of Druid's Hut. C18 or earlier, timber framed with colour washed brick nogging. Thatched roof swept down at either end over doorways. 2 lattice casement windows. Previously known as The Hermitage (B1).
Now known as 'Thatch' and in private ownership, the Hermitage lies within the southern park boundary west of the Druid's Hut, and may have shared a similar function [as a shooting lodge]. The Hermitage is a thatched timber framed cottage with brick nogging, originating in the 18th or possibly the late 17th century (B3).
