Historic building recording carried out by Oxford Archaeology in November 2012 during refurbishment works by the National Trust concluded that number 12 and the eastern bay of number 11 were constructed in the mid-16th century as a three-bay house, with the rear projection (number 13) constructed in the mid 17th century and the western corner range of number 11 constructed in the 19th century. Roof timbers were assessed for dendro-dating but found to have insufficient rings for dating. See report for detail (B2).
