Description
Grade II. C18. Plum-coloured bricks with red brick dressings. 3 storeys, moulded and modillion brick eaves level cornice; elaborately moulded and coved cornice head to parapet, the cove enriched with painted anthemion ornament, probably early C19. 4 bay tipper part with segmental headed windows, glazing bars only to upper half of double hung sashes. The 2nd floor windows have moulded brick cills, aprons with angle guttae. Modern shop fronts on ground floor with small cornice. The design of this front is carried on through the 4 premises adjoining on the north side and is exactly repeated in the 2 farthest premises, all modern reproduction, post 1914. The total effect is imposing and effective street architecture; further repetition would be monotonous (B1).
