Description

GRADE II. REMAINS OF LATE C19 GARDENS ON SITE OF C17 GARDENS. GROUNDS LAID OUT BY GEORGE EVELYN IN 1670S. VISITED BY COUSIN JOHN EVELYN 1679. REMNANTS OF LATE C17 LIME AVENUE BESIDE ROAD E OF HOUSE. GARDENS EXTENSIVELY RESTORED & DEVELOPED FROM C.1872 BY MRS ELEANOR VERE BOYLE (TOPIARY ETC) [FURTHER DETAIL](B9).
Western half of park and gardens included in Huntercombe Conservation Area (B10).
