Description

Plan Form - OVATE
A SURPRISING DISCOVERY WAS A FLINT OVATE ACHEULEAN HAND AXE, COMPARATIVELY UNABRADED. IT LAY IN DISTURBED MATERIAL, 13CM ABOVE SOLID CHALK FLOOR, 5.2M FROM CENTRAL DATUM, IN SE QUADRANT OF BARROW. PRESUMABLY BROUGHT IN FROM ADJOINING CLAY WITH FLINTS AREA DURING MOUND CONSTRUCTION (ILLUS)(B1).
