PERSONAL SEAL CAST IN LEAD WITH A VESTIGAL HANDLE ON THE REVERSE. INSCRIBED IN LOMBARDIC LETTERING AROUND A QUATREFOIL: 'S' ROBERTI ALEYN' (THE SEAL OF ROBERT ALEYN). THE SEAL'S STYLE DATES IT TO THE C13. NO ALEYNS ARE RECORDED IN THE QUARRENDON AREA (DRAWING FILED). FOUND BY FRANCIS HUITSON(B2).
