Description

TRADITIONAL VILLAGE SITE IS WHITE CLOSE. YEARS AGO WHEN ARABLE, TILES, BRICKS ETC WERE PLOUGHED UP. HAMLET OBVIOUSLY VERY SCATTERED SINCE SIMILAR EVIDENCE OCCURS IN ADJACENT FIELD 'MAZEDENE' IN 'THE RIDING' DEBRIS OF OLD COTTAGES VISIBLE IN THE BRAMBLES & HEARNTON WOOD. WHITE CLOSE WAS NUCLEUS (B5).
