Description
Grade II. House. 2 early C17 bays to centre, later flanking bays. Timber frame with whitewashed brick infill and whitewashed flint plinth; outer bays of whitewashed flint and brick. Old tile roofs, that to left bay slightly lower. Brick chimneys to gables and centre. 1½ storeys, 4 bays. C20 leaded casements: centre bays have 3-light windows, those to ground floor with board hoods, those above in gabled semi-dormers; matching 2-light windows in right bay; canted bay window to left. Centre is slightly angled and has old board and studded door, C19-C20 gabled timber porch, and fire insurance plaque inscribed "West of England, Exeter". C20 half-glazed and leaded door to left of right bay. Rear has casements with older mullions to first floor, 4-light flanking 3-light, and C20 whitewashed brick lean-to to left. Original right bay has substantial stop-chamfered joists. RCHM I p. 321-2 Mon. 28 (B1).
