Description

IN APRIL 1883 C.60 SKELETONS FOUND IN WIDENING WATER LANE. MAP SHOWS WATER LANE CORRESPONDS TO PRESENT DESBOROUGH ROAD (B10). BODIES WERE LAID WITHOUT REGARD TO ORIENTATION, SIDE BY SIDE AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE & AT 1 TIME. PROBABLY SLAIN IN BATTLE.ABOUT 45 MEN & 5-10 YOUTHS (B11).
