Description

Grade II. Small house. Early C16, altered mid C18. Left bay has timber frame with brick infill, the left gable with cruck truss. Right bay rebuilt C18 in red and vitreous brick with red quoins. Half-hipped roof with C20 tiles, central rebuilt brick chimney. 2 storeys, 2 bays. Left bay has barred horizontal sliding sash to first floor, and opening below. Ground floor of right bay has remains of paired barred wooden casement with segmental head. Central lobby entry with board door. Small weatherboarded outbuilding attached to left. Interior: left bay has original early C16 purlins and curved wind-braces, and inserted floor with C17 stop-chamfered spine-beam and joists; central truss is mostly concealed but shows some evidence of arch-brace construction; winder stair in line with chimney (B1).
