Small paired wooden casement to first floor between left bays over lobby entry with C20 door and flat wooden hood on brackets. Gables rebuilt in flint and brick. Rear is triple gabled, the left bay projecting, the outer bays with timber framing and brick infill to upper storeys. Irregular paired barred wooden casements. RCHM I. p. 286. Mon.14 (B1).
the Farmhouse can be recognised as a three cell unit lobby entrance house. This type of building was evident as a structure in the 16th century and 17th century. The roof structure and general similar height of the south wing indicates that this part of the rear structure was contemporary with that of the three cell unit. The building in its listing description is described as being of a 17th century date, however, the main datable internal features the chamfered beams, the fireplace in room F5 appear to have their closest parallels in the mid to late 16th century. Adze and axe marks are evident on some of the timbers, which again points to an early date. The north wing gable is likely to have been added as part of phase 2; it has the lower height of rooms, which is more common in a 17th century structure. The roof is steeply pitched a factor that is indicative of a pre-19th century date (B2).
