Description

Grade II. Pair of houses. C16, externally rebuilt and extended late C18-C19, with further C20 extensions to rear and left. Flint with brick dressings; old tile roof, half-hipped to left, hipped to right. Brick chimney between left bays, another of thin brick between right bays, C20 brick chimney at right end. 2 storeys, 4 bays. Irregular paired barred wood and metal casements, those to ground floor with segmental heads. No window to first floor of left bay. C20 board door between right bays; C20 lean-to porch to left of centre. C20 garages set back to left. Interior: 2 centre bays retain heavy timber framing in cross walls with curved braces, and close-studding in original left gable. Ground floor of left bay has moulded spine and cross beams, and stop- chamfered joists. Room above has stop-chamfered tie beam in left wall and chamfered arch-braced collar to right. Bay to right has wide chamfered joists along axis of building, curved wind-braces and stop-chamfered purlins (B1).
