Description
Grade II. House, formerly a hunting box for the Dashwood family, now incorporating former stable range. Circa 1800, altered. Knapped flint with unknapped dressings, hipped slate roofs and brick chimneys, some rendered. 2 storeys. Central block has 3 bays of sash windows with unknapped flint surrounds. Central French doors with flanking Doric columns and fine radiating fanlight in similar surround. Another matching doorcase to rear in gable with altered windows. Flanking blocks are set slightly back, the left lower, the right raised to height of centre block. Former stable range with C20 casements and garage doors at right angles to rear of left bay. Interior has central stone paved hall containing good staircase with curved flight and wreathed handrail. Reeded doorcases with small lions' heads at corners (B1).
