Description

Grade II. Early C19 former rectory house of 3 bays and 2 storeys. Yellow stock brick. Moulded projecting flat eaves to hipped slate roof. Angles of building project as pilaster piers. Recessed barred sashes with panelled reveals, reeded to outer side. Central doric porch with entablature, bay window at left. Colourwashed service wing set back at left, also slate roof (B1).
Shown on 1st edition 25-inch and 6-inch maps as 'White House'. Shown as 'Rectory' from 1900 onwards, until the 1960s. Before 1900 the Rectory was NE of the church (the building now known as 'Chenies House'). The current Rectory is a modern building within the gardens of 'Chenies House' (B2).
